Contribution Coins
Coins struck by Bamberg, Eichstatt, Fulda and other German cities in the 1790s during the First Coalition War against the French Republic. The name alludes to the fact that the bullion used to produce the coins needed to pay troops was raised by contribution from the Church and the civilian population.
